News Update – May 2008

The Atlantic Salmon Trust's Honorary Scientific Advisory Panel met on 9th April and considered applications for research and restoration awards.

As a result the Atlantic Salmon Trust has made grants of over £100,000 to priority projects and seminars. Chief amongst these is one to fund the post of Scientific Coordinator for the SALSEA Marine Research Programme into the survival of salmon at sea.

The grant of £15,000 to the Rivers and Fisheries Trusts of Scotland for genetic sampling is the largest single grant ever made by the Trust to a freshwater project.
