Small streams workshop

These streams can make a substantial but less-well-studied contribution to breeding habitat and thus to trout and sea trout populations.

The AST and IBIS (the INTERREG IVA project Integrated Aquatic Resource Management Between Ireland, N Ireland and Scotland) are  holding a workshop to examine  this contribution. This follows a recommendation by the Sea Trout Workshop organised by the AST last year.

The workshop will take place on 27 and 28 November at the Four Seasons Hotel, Carlingford, County Louth. The  workshop will cover a wide range of topics, including the structure of trout and sea trout populations in small streams, how small streams contribute to the overall trout and sea trout population in a catchment , the likely impacts of climate change and habitat issues relating to small streams.

Participation in the workshop is by invitation, and numbers are limited. However, anyone who is interested in attending should register their interest by visiting www.ktw-ats-nov12.eventbrite.co.uk .
