How You Can Help

Funding the Trust

Since the Trust was set up in 1967, it has received no official funding and is financed entirely by private contributions. The Trust is involved in the funding and sponsorship of practical research programmes tackling the problems wild Atlantic Salmon and Sea Trout face today.

Over the years the Trust has made a valuable contribution to the knowledge pool of the Atlantic Salmon and Sea Trout ecology and intends to continue this research will into the future. With a wide network of projects funded or part funded by the Trust, you can be sure that your support is greatly appreciated.

There are a number of different ways you can help support the Trust:

  • Making a Gift Aid donation, on which the Trust can reclaim Income Tax. If you sign a Gift Aid Declaration form, your donation will be worth almost a third more to us at no extra cost to you. This means that for every £1 you donate to us, we can claim an additional 28p from the Inland Revenue. (We can only reclaim tax from the Inland Revenue if you are a UK tax payer.)
  • Making regular donations by Bankers Order (Part of the Gift Aid Donation form) helping the Trust to better plan our budget.
  • By gifting stocks and shares to the Trust. You receive Capital Gains and personal tax relief on the value of your gift.
  • By remembering the Trust in your will. A bequest to charity is free of Inheritance Tax.
  • By contributing to our annual postal fishing auction.

Supporters of the Trust also have access to a range of services and events.

Postal Auction

Invitations to contribute to this annual auction are sent to those directly and indirectly connected with wild fish, fisheries and fishing. The auction booklet is published in December and copies are distributed to contributors and to those who ask for them. A copy is also to be published on this website from December 2004.
